Kritinia Castle, also known as Kastellos, is one of the most impressive medieval landmarks in Rhodes.
Built by the Knights of Saint John during the 15th century, the castle combines Byzantine and Medieval architectural influences while offering spectacular panoramic views over the Aegean Sea and nearby islands.
Inside the castle visitors can still see the remains of Saint Paul’s Catholic church as well as traces of later constructions from the Italian occupation period.
Today, Kritinia Castle is one of the most popular sunset spots in Rhodes thanks to its dramatic scenery and peaceful atmosphere.
